POKOTABI / Ichirin
日本料理 一凛
Tucked along a quiet street in Fukurocho, Kagurazaka, Ichirin offers refined omakase courses showcasing Kyoto vegetables and coastal seafood, paired with select sakes.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Tucked into a quiet corner of Fukurocho in Kagurazaka, Ichirin captures the passing seasons through graceful, disciplined kaiseki dining. The kitchen procures fresh seafood from ports including Toyosu, Kanazawa, Fukui, and Kyushu, alongside heirloom Kyoto vegetables, preparing each component with precision to draw out its innate character.
The restaurant’s signature omakase course develops at an unhurried tempo, highlighting prime ingredients as they arrive throughout the year—from autumn matsutake mushrooms to sweet snow crab. Guests can also choose the advance-reservation-only 'Shin-Omakase,' a course format allowing diners to choose two dishes according to personal taste or occasion. From the intricate seasonal appetizers (hassun) and clear soups (wanmono) to freshly cooked rice, careful craftsmanship shapes every detail.
The drink menu offers an equally thoughtful complement to the meal. Notable sake selections include Juyondai Daigokujo Nama, Aramasa Ecru, and Jikon Senbon Nishiki Muroka Nama, backed by French wines, Hakkaisan craft beer, and cold-brewed Kyoto green tea. Evening service operates by reservation only, providing an intimate setting suited for savoring fine drink and cuisine.
